Echinopsis Seedlings: Fast Growers & Hardy Heroes

If you're looking for an easy-care, tall-growing columnar cactus that can handle a fair bit of rough treatment, these Echinopsis seedlings (what used to be called Trichocereus!) are a brilliant place to start.

These are fast-growing cacti that will eventually grow quite tall, showcasing lovely sharp spines and producing very showy flowers up and down the column as they mature.

Tough as Nails

Echinopsis are genuinely one of the easiest cacti to grow—they can handle a lot of abuse!    They are generally cold hardy, capable of surviving temperatures down to -10.    They are so tough, they bounce back quickly even after having their heads cut off.  This actually seems to toughen them up!

They are also immensely popular to use as robust grafting stock, due to their speedy growth and resilience.

Seedling Variety

These plants are a great mix of famous named varieties, including Andy Blue, Martin, Knuth, and Bob crosses. While they all look quite similar now as seedlings, they will develop their individual characteristics as they grow. Snap up a few to see which stunning columnar cactus they turn into!

We do have quite a few large, absolutely stunning specimens in the collection, but these big guys are not ideal to post, sorry!    Can you imagine a poor postie grabbing a box and getting a frightening jab from within?    We wouldn't wish that on anyone!    If you are interested in purchasing any big ones, please get in touch, if you can collect.
