Any outstanding orders placed over the holiday period will resume processing from 5th January.

With such short weeks, I don't feel secure about posting and possibly having plants sitting in limbo for over a week.

I hope you are ok with this decision.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all.

The Peachy Showstopper

This big flowering beauty is currently identified as Epiphyllum 3 Peachy/red.   Due to the sheer number of hybrids available, Epiphyllums are incredibly hard to ID correctly, so unless they arrive with a name, they must be called a NOID (Name Unknown).   However, when placed next to our other red varieties, the difference is clear—this one has a beautiful, slightly peachier hue than our 'Big Red' variety.

Important Growing Tips:

  • Jungle Habitat: These are jungle cacti, so they naturally grow with less intense sun than their desert cousins. They grow fine in filtered light but will look quite sunburnt if grown in full, direct sun.

  • Pests: They are a magnet for slugs and snails, who absolutely love to munch on the stems and ruin the gorgeous flowers!

  • Water: Water well during active growth and avoid overwatering.

Cuttings:

When you receive your cuttings, they will be ready to pot up!   Use a free-draining mix, pop your segment in, and leave it.   Crucially, do not water it until it starts to root.   The tip has been removed to encourage a nice, tidy plant instead of long, spindly lengths.

Dragon Fruit, Curly Sue, Fishbone Cactus—whatever unique names they go by, these Epiphytic Cacti are the true show-stoppers of the cactus world!   Unlike their arid, desert cousins, these incredible plants hail from the lush, humid rainforests of Central and South America, where they grow happily on tree trunks and rocks.   If you’re looking to build a magnificent indoor jungle, this is where you start!

In this collection, you'll find stunning flat-stemmed bloomers like EpiphyllumDisocactus, and the impressive climbing and trailing Selenicereus (which includes the Dragon Fruit plant). They are often trailing and always magnificent, offering a completely different, wavy texture and look from your standard spiky cacti.
