These stunning jungle cacti are a diverse group, known by many names—from Zygocactus to their proper botanical titles (Schlumbergera and Hatiora/Rhipsalidopsis). Whether you are looking for a Christmas Cactus, a Thanksgiving Cactus, or an Easter Cactus, these plants are loved for their vibrant, seasonal blooms and easy-going nature.

Seasonal Supply & Bloom Times

To ensure our plants stay healthy during transit, we only supply these at certain times of the year. We generally stop shipping as they get closer to flowering, especially once the New Zealand winter sets in, to protect the delicate buds.

Bloom Cycle in NZ:

• Christmas Cactus (Schlumbergera): Typically blooms first in early Winter.

• Thanksgiving Cactus (Schlumbergera): Typically follows throughout Winter.

• Easter Cactus (Hatiora/Rhipsalidopsis): Brings a splash of colour later in Spring.

Care Tip for the NZ Summer

With our current "weird" summer weather—swinging from parched heat to cold winds—keep your Holiday Cacti in a sheltered, bright spot. They appreciate the humidity but don't like being blasted by dry winds!
